ONLINE Way of the Wave: meditation that moves at home
Thursdays
6:45 - 8:15 pm Pacific Time

While we're unable to gather in the flesh, I will offer online classes.
It's a joy to hold this piece strong, solid and open for those who come together to maintain the thread of their own movement and our community of practice.

Our digital dance reflects our physical one: this is a teacher-supported practice that actively invites you to enter awareness in and through free-form movement.
No previous dance or meditation experience required. I will offer a zone of attention and presence, using 5Rhythms form and freedom.

People of all genders, all cultures/backgrounds/religions, all life stages, all states of health and (dis)ability, and all sizes are lovingly welcome.

My intention is gentle and deep. Our streamlined practice will move like this:

When you join the Zoom call, you should find yourself in a “waiting room" until I welcome you to the meeting room.
Please keep your microphone muted in general. You'll be able to unmute yourself if you need to ask me a question. Zoom's chat function will also be available for you.
In class, feel free to turn your own video on or off as you wish. I will be present on-screen, in witness and care.

Our form is simple:
ARRIVAL TRANSITION: door opens at 6:30 p.m.
WARMUP: 6:45
WAVE: ending between 8 and 8:10 p.m.
CIRCLE: we share presence in silent meditation and optional sharing until 8:15

Mothering yourself:
Ensure your portal device is plugged in or charged fully.
Wear comfortable clothing.
Prepare your movement space in a way that feels good.
Have some water available.

If you have any questions please reach out to chantellfoss@gmail.com. I'm here.
If you have difficulties with Zoom at class time, email me at the same address and we'll work it out.

boil water advisory in effect : bring your own water

sorry, no drop-ins at this time  ::  each class is ticketed  ::  see below
attendance capped well below official COVID-19 room capacity

To enter, dancers will agree to a one-time waiver for the period of the pandemic.
Classes follow B.C.'s COVID-19 health and safety guidelines: please see below.
To be able to continue classes this year, we need to hold to some simple practices.

We'll sign you in, verifying each class that you have, in the previous 10 days, NO:

- fever or chills
- new or worsening cough
- shortness of breath
- sore throat
- new muscle or headaches
- direction from public health to isolate
- travel outside our health region
- contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case

By entering, you agree  to gracefully give others at least 6 feet of space for the entire class and while in the dance venue.

Masks are very welcome on the dance floor. At this time I do not need to require them. Please make no assumptions about others' choices, and demonstrate respect.

Prepare for class. Mother yourself.

Wear plenty of extra warm, comfy layers. We are using substantial direct airflow from outdoors, so dance floor temperature will change with the winter weather.

The HUB is under a boil-water advisory. Bring a good supply of drinking water.

You are welcome to dance in bare feet or indoor shoes (for warmth or joint support).

There are chairs available in the space for seated dance.

As with all 5Rhythms and conscious dance practices, please be in the space with:
- no chatting
- no intoxicants
- no phones/devices unless you are a medic or caregiver on call
- no photography or video
- yes! please tell me if you leave early, so my crew knows you're okay

Thank you for your partnership with the ongoing changes and requirements of these difficult times,
which I observe to protect our ability to continue to practice.

:: peace to all my relations :: and this is not the space for you ::

No yoga experience necessary - and experienced yoginis/yogis welcome. This is a class with personal attention, time for social connection, and welcoming space for babies to nurse, cry, and do all the things that babies do. Gathering together, stretching together, and relaxing together is a powerful cure for the big challenges, massive changes, and frequent isolation of early parenting.
