Open Floor is a collaborative, open-source, guided, free-form movement meditation practice and organization.
It sprouted in the hands of a group of 5Rhythms leaders, who reviewed and re-engaged with a huge collective body of dance experience across disciplines, and a spectrum of research on movement and the human being.
This practice encourages mixing and remixing of the infinite, ingenious existing human ways to sense, express, connect, and create.
It emphasizes resourcing and regulating ourselves as we relate intentionally to self, to other individual beings,
to all of us, and to creation. All in a field of conscious communal responsibility.
Kathy Altman, my first teacher in Open Floor, and a founder of the practice,
opens the door to the Open Floor so well:
